May 20, 2025

Press Release and Announcement

We are honored to announce representation of Sarah Helen More at Bridgette Mayer Gallery.

Sarah Helen More was born in Hartford, Connecticut and raised in Portland, Oregon and Houston, Texas. Influenced by her mother’s handmade quilts and her father’s large collection of rocks and minerals in her childhood, Sarah creates works that represent the symbology and vocabulary of traditional textile images. She utilizes unexpected colors, hard-edge and geometric abstraction in creating paintings which reference her personal history and daily observations.

Sarah has worked as a studio assistant to Takashi Murakami, has taught art history at the college level, and spent many years working in manufacturing and factory production management. She has recently completed several large-scale art commissions, including her first public art project of a 29 x 6.5 ft mosaic glass installation at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in 2025. As well as a 25 x 9 ft mural in conjunction with the Meta Open Arts program in Bellevue, Washington in 2022. She currently lives and works in Seattle.

On adding Sarah Helen More to her artist roster, Bridgette Mayer shared: “I am thrilled to announce the representation of Seattle based artist, Sarah Helen More. Her painting style is flawless and representative of traditional quilting and textile symbology. She has a distinct perspective in creating works with geometric abstraction which make her mosaic and mixed media works cutting edge. I’m incredibly excited to bring her work and public art portfolio as an enhancement to my gallery program.”

Reflecting on her representation with Bridgette Mayer Gallery, Sarah says: “I am excited and incredibly grateful for the opportunity to be part of the extraordinary group of artists represented by Bridgette Mayer Gallery in Philadelphia. I’ve admired Bridgette’s program for many years and am thrilled to have a place on her roster.”

The Gallery looks forward to supporting Sarah in the development of future exhibitions and endeavors with the gallery.
